Early Morning Sadhana & Yoga / Live Music / Tuesday, April 29 4:30a-6:30a / YogaHeart Studio, Polson, Montana
I have one more week (with lots of studying and writing in between) to go through to complete my Level 1 Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training! I’ve been practicing Kundalini Yoga for 10 years, teaching some, filling in for others, keeping up. The training has been wonderful for me! I’m learning the technology behind the postures, the spirit and depth of the mantras, and details of the practice.
I had it in my mind that I wanted to celebrate the onset of spring this year in a way I hadn’t done before – that is, with an early morning Sadhana (practice) which includes singing Japji, practicing a short Kriya, and finishing with chanting mantras.
Early mornings are the best time for meditation and remembrance. I learned this actually when my kids were babies – 3am was a quiet time then, as it is now. No phone calls, nothing much to tend to other than what I wanted to do. Energies have not yet woken up. Some call it the ‘time of elixir.’ Birds are not yet singing, sun still asleep. All emerge as the sun rises into the sounds, smells, and activities of a new day – making it harder to sit still, and to keep the mind on interior focus!
Look for more blog posts about Japji and Sadhana.
